The nursing centre " Am Silbersee", an expert institution for Geronto psychiatry is presently located in a building erected in the twenties, that was originally designed and expanded as a hotel with gastronomic business (restaurant/café). But the building does not require today´s standards and can not fulfil the demands of the occupants. A-REAL was commissioned to plan a new building alongside the historic buildings that follows the guidelines for such institutions and fits gently into the landscape near the Silbersee. The project was planned and designed as agreed with the district of Wesel, several authorities such as the conservation authority, the authorities for water and landscape protection, the nursing insurance company and the woman who runs the nursing centre. The planning permission will probably be given in the first quarter of 2002. The construction work will start after the"Landschaftsverband Rheinland" provides the needed subside. The construction cost is approx. € 7 million.
